Quaker Meeting House and Room Hire

More information about our Meeting House is here.

Both community and business users can be accommodated in our historic but extensively modernised meeting house.  All rooms have under-floor heating and are well decorated.  Internet access is available and a television with an HTMI connection and Sound Bar, or a data projector with screen can also be booked. Meeting House users are also very welcome to relax in our beautiful gardens.

Rooms are bookable from 9am – 10pm, Monday to Saturday.

We are centrally located in Bury St. Edmunds historic town centre with entrances in St. Johns and St. Andrews Street, just by the library. Long and Short Stay Parking is located close to the Meeting House. We are two minutes walk from the bus station and ten minutes walk from the railway station. Limited On-Street public parking for blue badge holders is located on St.Andrews Street very close to the Meeting House. Level access is available from our St.Andrews Street entrance.  A toilet for the disabled is available in the Meeting House. We have a hearing loop in the main meeting room.

What kind of rooms do we have and how much do they cost?

We regret to announce a price rise of 4 cent from 1 April 2024. We increased prices in 2020 & in 2023 but not in 2021 & 2022. This increase is caused by the large increase in energy costs we have to pay, and the cost of employing our staff at the Real Living Wage plus the ever increasing cost of maintaining our building. Please contact the Warden for up to date prices.

Prices from 1 April 2024

(For prices until then please see below.)

Discounts are available for regular bookings and in other circumstances.

Click on the photos for more pictures of the rooms but note that prices increased from 1st April.
