Message to our Muslim friends
Monday, May 29 2017
Dear Mo and Muslim friends
During our Meeting for Worship on Sunday morning our thoughts dwelt on last week’s events in Manchester. We reflected that such violent attacks on ordinary people aim to divide us and spread fear, but the opposite seems to have happened in Manchester where people have been brought together in their shared grief and defiance. We hope the same is true in our town.
At the close of our Meeting, one of our number suggested we might send you all a message of solidarity and support, and the whole Meeting asked our Clerks to send this message is soon as possible, and ask you to circulate it to your whole community.
In loving Friendship,
Jenny Chantler and Margaret Bennett

Dear Jenny and Margaret
I hope you are well, thank you kindly for the below email, we appreciate the kind and generous words of the Quaker Community in a particular difficult time.
I have forwarded your message to our community and to my fellow Trustees, we really do appreciate all that the Quaker community is doing for our small community in Bury and for allowing us generous use of the meeting house.
We also pray that the common sense and reason prevail and that the various conflicts taking place across the globe come to a amicable resolution.
Please pass on our best wishes and thanks, to the elders and to the rest of the Quakers Community in Bury.
In peace and best wishes
Best Regards
Mo
