Heritage Open Days

Heritage Open Days

Visit our historic 18th Century Quaker Meeting House, with its 21st Century modern ecological extension and beautiful garden.

The Meeting House will be open from 10am to 5pm on Saturday 8th September from 2pm to 4pm on Sunday 9th September, with local Quakers on hand to answer questions about the building and about Quakers today.  You will also be able to explore our central Bury garden, a vital lung for the town.

In line with this year’s Heritage Open Day theme of Extraordinary Women Past and Present we will be presenting an exhibition on Extraordinary Quaker Women including prison reformers, scientists, actors and Margaret Kemp who single handed kept this meeting house going in the 1950s.

Light refreshments will be on offer.

Local Quakers are asked to offer to be a host.   See also Ride and Stride
