OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF OUR SHOP

Hello, we are Best Before Project. Out aim is to stop good food from being thrown away. Food which has passed its “best before” date may lose some of its initial quality (taste, aroma or texture) but still remains edible and safe (Food Standards Agency www.food.gov.uk. It is these food items that we are giving out to all sections of the community, to help people on low budgets, to assist in educating people about this unnecessary waste and the negative and harmful impact it has on our environment. Food is distributed free of charge, from the shop, with the choice of giving a donation. Our shop opens once a week on Tuesdays 10am to 2pn at present.

We have joined up with FareShare and are getting weekly food donations from Tescos in Bury St Edmunds and other local donators are Faraway Foods and The Bodhi Tree. We would also like to acknowledge the support and commitment of Suffolk County Council.

We do hope you will be able to join us on the 19th September at 11am for the launch of this exciting venture. We would be grateful if you could let us know if you are able to attend.
