Drones Quilt in St Edmundsbury Cathedral
Bury Quaker Meeting sponsored an exhibition of the Fellowship of Reconciliation’s Drones Quilt in St. Edmundsbury Cathedral Cloisters from 9th – 20th June. Each square of the Quilt represented an innocent civilian victim of armed drones (unmanned aerial vehicles), and depicted the name of the victim together with the name of the person who created the square, thus remembering each individual victim. It is estimated that over 600 people viewed this ‘textile petition for peace’.
Our thanks to the Cathedral, and peace groups in the town for helping to make this exhibition possible.
From our comments book:- “Very moving, especially seeing the names of young children who have been killed”.
