COP26 Camino Pilgrimage reaches Penrith.

Today, the 11th October, the Camino multi faith pilgrimage to Glasgow reached the Friends Meeting House in Penrith, Cumbria. Back on Tuesday, 17th August, members of our meeting, and of the local community, travelled by bike (pictured above) or bus on a leg to Sudbury Meeting House. The pilgrimage then progressed to link up with the Camino pilgrimage which started in Bristol.

Prior to setting out, the Bury participants took part in our regular Tuesday Quaker Midweek meeting (1 to 130pm). The pilgrimage is designed to raise awareness of the climate crisis and to deliver a clear message that action is needed now to world leaders attending the COP26 UN climate conference to be held in Glasgow in November.
